Vote on our updated Affirming Statements

As a final step in our Affirming Process we presented our updated Welcoming Statement, Mission, Visison and Values to the whole congregation for a vote on Sunday, June 29.  Over the previous months our Affirming Committee had gone through the requirements of  Affirm United to become affirming.  There were various updates to things like our marriage policy, conversations to be had about the things we have already done on our journey, and how to make sure our various values statements reflect our inclusivity.  

After some input fromAffirm United, we presented these changes to the congregation and are thrilled to say that they were accepted unanimously.  You can read these stements on our Mission, Vision and Values page.

The next item on the agenda is to schedule a date to celebrate this milestone with receiving our certificate, and eating cake!!
