Pastoral care is a way of deep listening and being present with others.
Whether our experience is with a family member with dementia, a friend who
is unwell, or someone who is dying or grieving a significant loss, there are
times when all of us wish we had more skills and confidence. Through
conversation and specific skill building we will cover topics like: how to begin,

what to say and not to say, and when not to say anything, listening skills,
confidentiality, boundaries, self-care and leaving space for God.

Led by Rev. Alanna Menu and Rev. Julianne Kasmer, two sessions @ 1-1 1⁄2
hours each will be held after worship on April 7th and 14th. All are welcome!
There will be a short additional session for anyone who wishes to consider
joining Esquimalt United’s formal Pastoral Care Team.

While registration is not required, it is helpful to have an approximate
number for space and preparation. Please contact the church office at
250-384-3031 or esquimaltunited@shaw.ca to indicate your interest.
